Welcome to the home of Eastern
Pines Rescue-EMS! Founded in
1982 as Eastern Pines Rescue
Squad, the EMS division of
Eastern Pines Fire-Rescue-EMS
Inc. has served with distinction
and honor ever since. Located
just east of Greenville, NC,
approximately 30 volunteers and
8 part-time paid staff proudly
provide the nearly 19,000
citizens of eastern Pitt County
with continuous Paramedic level
Emergency Medical Service 24
hours a day. In addition to EMS
response, some members are
trained in technical rescue as
NC Rescue Technicians and
respond in conjunction with
Eastern Pines Fire-Rescue to
provide crash, rope and water
rescue, as well as back up the
EMS crew with additional medical
manpower at crashes where
technical services are not
needed. Roughly, our
response district includes
all points east of the City of
Greenville and south of the Tar
River to the Pitt-Beaufort
County line, and north of NC Hwy
43 and east almost all the way
to NC 102. Communities served
include Eastern Pines, Simpson,
Grimesland and Black Jack. In
addition to responding with
Eastern Pines Fire Rescue, we
also respond with all other
“district three” fire
departments, as well as
mutual-aid responses with all
other Pitt County stations and
the
City of Greenville
Fire/Rescue-EMS. Our
volunteer staff is comprised
of people from all walks of
life, including business
professionals, entrepreneurs,
college students and medical
professionals. All personnel are
certified by the
State of North Carolina Office
of EMS at various levels
including Medical Responder,
Emergency Medical Technician,
EMT-Intermediate and
EMT-Paramedic. In addition, many
of us are also cross-trained in
technical rescue, firefighting
and hazardous materials, and are
members of EPFR or other Pitt
County fire departments. Thanks
you for visiting. Come back
soon!
